Background:
As soon as he was born, Mikey was dumped on the doorstep of a Vulcan family living on earth. A group of Vulcans raising a Betazoid is hardly an ideal situation, and thankfully, they gave him up for adoption. After a few years, Mikey was adopted by a Terran family how were more than prepared to have him. They named him -- Michael Dorsett - - and raised him as their own.

When Mikey was eight, all of his family died in a transported accident, and, again went to another foster home.

Mikey was adopted by a wealthy Betazoid family in 2363, The head of the family was an The Consulate General for Betazed on Earth. Ambassador Dorffen wanted all of his children to follow in his footsteps and excel in their chosen careers.

Mikey's oldest sister, Britt, did just that. She enrolled in StarFleet Academy at sixteen, and five years later, she was a award winning Chemist, assigned to the newly Commissioned USS St Louis. Mikey always lived in Britt's shadow, never sharing the admiration Ambassador Dorffen held for his daughter.

When Mikey was sixteen, His father enrolled him into StarFleet academy against his wishes. Mikey failed the entrance exam twice, before being accepted at seventeen. Mikey didn't even try on either occasion, and eventually the Ambassador's humiliation mounted up. Let's just say that it wasn't Mikey's talent in warp field dynamics that got him into the Academy.

After a few months of Academy life (He was some-what hostile to study to begin with), to his horror, Mikey found himself enjoying his time there. During his forth year, he found himself on a field trip gone wrong- a rescue mission which plunged him into a war zone.

With a lot of luck he survived the Kal-Daxas incident, and requested to be transferred to the shiip which he had been part of the effort to rescue- the USS Sovereign. Completing his final year on the sovereign class vessel, he was requested transfer o the USS Aeolus on graduation.

On his first day on board ship, before the Aeolus had even left spacedock, the Chief Science officer, Lieutenant Cordeliana, was killed on duty leaving Mikey in command of the depatment... bad idea.

Personality profile:
Mikey's always had the feeling that her was never wanted in his family, ever since he was adopted. The only time he'd felt loved was with his original foster family. This has left him slightly emotionally retarded. Mikey isn't shy, but he doesn't like to show his emotion. He likes to hide his emotional insecurity with his attitude.

Mikey also has a romanticised picture of himself, because as he doesn't belong to a real family, he is on his own in life. Because of this, he hates authority and having to conform to both his father's rules and now StarFleet rules. He is a little shallow in that respect as he will do things just to be different.

Mikey isn't slow... it's just the way he is. The words 'embaressed' and 'that Dorffen bloke' oft feature in the same sentence.

He thinks of himself as God's gift to women, and too often makes an utter fool of himself with regards to this fact. If confermation is needed, see Lieutenant Commander Annie Lahav of the USS Pompeii, Ensign Jensia of the USS Plath, Lieutenant JG Andrea Furel of the USS Sovereign..

Special notes:
Mikey's mental powers are a little unsure of themselves and need training- He can project very well, but often /too/ well, allowing
